We have provided a list of common pre-requisites necessary for admission to Physician Assistant programs for non STEM majors at UMBC. It is important to note that this list is not inclusive of all programs. It is the responsibility of the student to communicate with schools you are interested in attending and determine what/if any additional requirements are needed.

Biology (17 credits)
- BIOL 101 (3 credits) Concepts of Biology
- BIOL 101L* (1) Concepts of Biology Lab
- BIOL 273 (3) Microbiology for Allied Health
- BIOL 273L (2) Microbiology Lab
- BIOL 251 (3) Human Anatomy & Physiology I
- BIOL 251L (1) Human Anatomy & Physiology I Laboratory
- BIOL 252 (3) Human Anatomy & Physiology II
- BIOL 252L (1) Human Anatomy & Physiology II Laboratory
* BIOL 101L is a requirement for some schools, but you should check with your specific schools of interest to determine if this lab is needed.
Chemistry (6 credits)
- CHEM 120 (4 credits) Intro to General Organic & Biochemistry I
- CHEM 124L (2) General Organic & Biochemistry II Lab
Some schools require CHEM 351 and CHEM 351L. The appropriate prerequisites are CHEM 101, CHEM 102 and CHEM 102L for those programs.
Mathematics (4 credits)
- STAT 121 (4) Introduction to Statistics for the Social Sciences
Psychology (7 credits)
- PSYC 100 (4 credits) Introduction to Psychology
