Applying
Entrance into Dental Hygiene programs is a competitive process. While requirements vary from school to school, qualified applicants should have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, as well as a 3.0 average in their science coursework. As always, it is a good idea to review each school’s profile to determine what the minimum requirements are for entry. For example, competitive applicants applying to the University of Maryland Program in Dental Hygiene should have at least a 3.3 grade point average, both cumulative and in their science coursework. Students applying to the University of Maryland School of Dentistry Program in Dental Hygiene must submit the following beginning November 1st (and no later than February 1st) for Fall enrollment.
